If the Tool can not be open, follow the instructions:
1. Extract file – open folder Service Tool. Right-click Service Tool.exe – select Properties
2. Compatibility
3. Checkbox: Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
4. OK.

How to Use Canon Service Tool v.1050

Reset printer with Canon Service Tool v.1050

  • Before running this tool, make sure the printer in the Service Mode position.
  • Download Service Tool v.1050
  • Extract file and open Service Tool. If Service Tool can't be open, unplug the USB cable and then open the Service Tool. After the open Service Tool, re-connect USB cable.
  • Load paper A4 or Letter
  • Select USB Port (1) printer.
  • For your reference in servicing, print EEPROM (2) information before resetting. Wait for the printer to finish printing.
  • Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN (3). Wait for the printer to finish printing D=000.0. D is a Waste ink amount. D=000.0 means "The ink absorber counter has been reset to zero".

  • Set Destination, select your Region (4): ASA, AUS, BRA, CHN, CND, EUR, JPN, KOR, LTN, TWN, USA and then click SET (5)
  • Print EEPROM (2) information once again after resetting. Wait for the printer to finish printing.
  • Compare EEPROM information before and after reset, look at the value of D (Waste ink amount).
  • If all goes well, close Service Tool
  • Turn off the printer (wait 10 seconds)
  • Turn on printer and printer ready to use
