Operator Call Error and Solution on Canon iP4800, iP4810, iP4820, iP4840, iP4850, iP4870, iP4880

Operator Call Error is when the printer is used to print, the Alarm LED flashes orange several times (x times) and when checking the Status Monitor, an error message appears with an error code. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen then press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing. If you want to cancel printing, please press the Resume/Cancel button. If the error still occurs, please turn off the printer, wait a while, then turn the printer back on. Maybe this way can solve the problem.
Error code and Solution on Canon iP4800, iP4810, iP4820, iP4840, iP4850, iP4870, iP4880
There are two types of error codes that occur on the Canon iP4800 series, namely Operator Call Error and Service Call Error. In this post, we will discuss Operator Call Errors, while for Service Call Errors, please read Service Call Errors and Solutions on the Canon iP4800 series. The following is the error code for the Operator Call Error that occurs on the Canon iP4800 series and the solutions you can do.


Operator Call Error and Solution on Canon iP4800 series


Error code1000
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 2 times
Error: No paper in the rear tray
Solutions:
When the printer is used to print, there is no paper on the rear tray. The alarm LED will flash orange 2 times and Printer Status appears on the computer screen saying: No paper in the rear tray, support code 1000. The solution is to load paper in the rear tray and press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1001
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 2 times
Error: No disc tray (only for disc label printing supported regions.)
Solutions:
When printing CD/DVD labels and the CD/DVD tray is not installed, the Alarm LED will flash orange 2 times and Printer Status appears on the computer screen saying: No CD/DVD tray, support code 1001 The solution is to insert the CD/DVD tray, then Press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1002
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 2 times
Error: No printable disc (only for disc label printing supported regions.)
Solutions:
When the printer is used to print CD/DVD labels and there is no CD/DVD in the CD/DVD tray, the Alarm LED will flash orange 2 times and a Printer Status appears on the computer screen which reads: No printable disc, error code 1002. The solution is please Insert the CD/DVD in the CD/DVD tray then press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1003
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 2 times
Error: No paper in the cassette.
Solutions:
When the printer is used to print plain paper from the Cassette, and there is no paper in the Cassette unit, the Alarm LED will flash orange 2 times and a message appears on the screen saying: There is no paper in the cassette, error code 1003. The solution is to make sure that Cassette is selected as the source. paper, then load the paper into the cassette, and press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1300
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 3 times
Error: Paper jam.
Solutions:
While the printer is being used for printing, the paper suddenly jams in the rear guide or in the bottom guide. Remove the jammed paper from the rear guide or bottom guide (whichever is easiest for you), carefully and slowly pull out the paper. After the paper jam is successfully ejected, press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1303
Alarm LED blinking in orange3 times
Error: Paper jam in the rear guide.
Solutions:
While the printer is being used for printing, the paper suddenly jams in the rear guide or in the bottom guide. Remove the jammed paper from the rear guide or bottom guide (whichever is easiest for you), carefully and slowly pull out the paper. After the paper jam is successfully ejected, press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1304
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 3 times
Error: Paper jam in the under guide.
Solutions:
While the printer is being used for printing, the paper suddenly jams in the rear guide or in the bottom guide. Remove the jammed paper from the rear guide or bottom guide (whichever is easiest for you), carefully and slowly pull out the paper. After the paper jam is successfully ejected, press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1205
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 3 times
Error: The front door is closed.
Solutions:
The front door is closed at the time of printing. Open the front door and press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1600
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 4 times
Error: Ink may have run out.
Solutions:
When it is detected that ink is running out, while new ink tanks are not yet available, you can still continue printing by deactivating ink level detection by pressing and holding the Continue/Cancel button for about 5 seconds or longer, then release the Resume/Cancel button. You can continue printing with ink remaining in the ink tanks. Replace the ink tank immediately before the ink in the ink tank is completely used up.


Error code1660
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 4 times
Error: Ink tank not installed.
Solutions:
Install the appropriate ink tank correctly, and make sure that all of the ink tank LEDs are red.


Error code1401
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 5 times
Error: Print head not installed, or not properly installed.
Solutions:
Put on gloves and follow this procedure. Remove the Print Head Unit, take a pencil eraser, rub/clean the Electrical Contacts with a pencil eraser, then clean the Print Head with tissue paper. When finished, reinstall the Print Head Unit correctly. Be careful not to touch the Electrical Contacts and the Print Head. Wear gloves so that the Electrical Contacts and Print Head are not touched by hands.


Error code1401
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 5 times
Error: Faulty print head ID.
Solutions:
Wear gloves and follow this procedure. Remove the Print Head Unit, clean the Print Head Unit, when finished reinstall the Print Head Unit correctly. If the error is not resolved, the print head may be damaged. Replace the print head with a new one. Canon iP4800 series print heads can be purchased at online stores with Part Number QY6-0080-000. Error code1403
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 5 times
Error: Print head temperature sensor error.
Solutions:
Wear gloves and follow this procedure. Remove the Print Head Unit, clean the Print Head Unit, when finished reinstall the Print Head Unit correctly. If the error is not resolved, the print head may be damaged. Replace the print head with a new one. Canon iP4800 series print heads can be purchased at online stores with Part Number QY6-0080-000. Error code1405
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 5 times
Error: Faulty EEPROM data of the print head.
Solutions:
Wear gloves and follow this procedure. Remove the Print Head Unit, clean the Print Head Unit, when finished reinstall the Print Head Unit correctly. If the error is not resolved, the print head may be damaged. Replace the print head with a new one. Canon iP4800 series print heads can be purchased at online stores with Part Number QY6-0080-000. Error codes:
18411846 (only for disc label printing non-supported regions.)
18511856 (only for disc label printing supported regions.)
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 6 times
Error: Inner cover error.
Solutions:
When the printer is used to print, the inner cover is still open. Close the inner cover and press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing. If the error is not cleared, examine that the inner cover sensor is properly installed.


Error code18501855 (only for disc label printing supported regions.)
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 6 times
Error: Inner cover error.
Solutions:
When the printer is used to print CD/DVD labels, the CD/DVD tray is not installed. Open the inner cover, insert the CD/DVD tray, close the inner cover, then press the Resume/Cancel button to continue printing.


Error code1830 (only for disc label printing supported regions.)
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 6 times
Error: Time-out in CD/DVD print operation.
Solutions:
The specified time period (12 minutes) has elapsed without any printing since the last printing was performed. Press the Resume/Cancel button to clear the error.


Error code1487
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 7 times
Error: Multiple ink tanks of the same color installed.
Solutions:
Check the installed ink tank, and replace the wrong ink tank(s) with the correct one(s).


Error code1680
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 7 times
Error: Ink tank in a wrong position.
Solutions:
Check the installed ink tank, and check that the ink tank(s) are installed in the correct position.


Error code17001701
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 8 times
Error:
1700 (Warning: The ink absorber becomes almost full - overseas)
1701 (Warning: The ink absorber becomes almost full - Japan)
Operator Call Error and Solution on Canon iP4800, iP4810, iP4820, iP4840, iP4850, iP4870, iP4880
Solutions:
This error occurs because the waste ink absorber is almost full. Press the Resume/Cancel button to exit the error and continue printing without replacing the waste ink absorber. However, when the waste ink absorber is full (D=100.0), the printer cannot be used. In order for the printer to be reused, the ink absorber must be replaced and the waste ink counter reset to zero (D=0000.0). Error code2001
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 9 times
Error: The connected digital camera or digital video camera does not support Camera Direct Printing.
Solutions:
Since the camera connected to the printer does not support printing directly from the camera, disconnect the cable connecting the camera and printer.


Error code1310
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 10 times
Error: Automatic duplex printing cannot be performed or automatic two-sided printing cannot be performed.
Solutions:
Since the paper length being used is not supported for duplex printing, press the Resume/Cancel button to eject the paper that was being used at the time the error occurred. Pages that would be printed on the back side of the paper at the time of the error will be skipped or not printed.


Error code2500
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 11 times
Error: Failed in automatic print head alignment.
Solutions:
Press the Resume/Cancel button to clear the error, then run the automatic print head again. Recommended for Canon iP4800 series, use MP-101 Matte Photo Paper. If the alignment pattern does not print correctly (print is faded, etc.), perform print head cleaning, then perform print head alignment again.


Error code4100
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 12 times
Error: Premium Contents print error.
Solutions:
Non-genuine ink tanks are installed. Install the Canon-genuine ink tanks.


Error code1683
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 13 times
Error: The remaining ink amount unknown (raw ink present).
Solutions:
Printing with an empty ink tank can damage the printer, when one of the ink tanks runs out, replace the ink tank with a new one. To continue printing without changing the ink tank, press the Resume/Cancel button for 5 seconds or longer to turn off the detecting amount of ink remaining function. After operation, ink level detection for one of the ink tanks has been disabled. Ink level detection will automatically reactivate when an empty ink tank is replaced with a new one.


Error code1684
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 14 times
Error: Ink tank not recognized.
Operator Call Error and Solution on Canon iP4800, iP4810, iP4820, iP4840, iP4850, iP4870, iP4880
Solutions:
A non-supported ink tank is installed (the ink tank LED is turned off). Install the supported ink tanks.


Error codes: 1682
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 15 times
Error: Ink tank not recognized.
Solutions:
A hardware error occurred in an ink tank (the ink tank LED is turned off). Replace the ink tank(s).


Error code1688
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 16 times
Error: No ink (no raw ink).
Solutions:
To continue printing without changing the ink tank, press the Resume/Cancel button for 5 seconds or longer to disable the remaining ink detection function. After that printing can be continued until the remaining ink in the ink tank runs out. Printing with an empty ink tank can damage the printer. Immediately replace the ink tank with a new one and automatically the remaining ink detection function will be active again.


Error code2002
Alarm LED blinking in orange: 19 times
Error: Non-supported hub
Solutions:
Remove the applicable USB hub from the PictBridge (USB) connector.
