Repair Epson L3050 / L3060 / L3070 error a printer's ink pad is at the end of its service life

1.  Reset the ink pad counter
There are two ink pads on the Epson L3050 / L3060 / L3070 namely Main ink pad and Platen ink pad. The main ink pad is the main waste ink storage pad. Every time the head cleaning is done, the waste ink will be accommodated in the Main ink pad. While the Platen ink pad is a waste ink pad located in the Housing Lower.

To reset the Main and Platen ink pad counters, the Epson Adjustment Program portable software is used. The Epson Adjustment Program can be used on Windows operating systems (11, 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP) and can be used to reset the printer if the printer driver has been installed and the printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable (not Wireless). Here's how to reset the Main and Platen ink pad counters.

- Make sure the printer driver is installed

- Use a computer that uses the Windows Operating System (11, 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP)
- Connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable (not Wireless)
- Download Adjustment Program Epson L3050 / L3060 / L3070
- Open AdjProg (1) - Select (2)

- Model name: L3050 / L3060 / L3070 (3) - Port: Auto selection or select USB port L3050 / L3060 / L3070 (4) - OK (5)

- Particular adjustment mode (6) - Waste ink pad counter (7) - OK (8)

- To find out the value of the Main pad counter and Platen pad counter before resetting, check the Main pad counter and Platen pad counter (9) - Check (10). Wait a few moments, the value of Main and Platen pad counters will appear on the screen. - Main pad counter = 100% (6207 points) - Max: 6207 points, and Platen pad counter = 0% (0 points) - Max: 2420 points. Based on the values ​​of the Main pad counter and Platen pad counter, it can be concluded that the cause of the error "The printer's ink pads are at the end of their service life" is that the Main pad counter has reached its maximum value (100%). Next we will reset the Main pad counter value to zero.
- Check the Main pad counter (11) - Initialize (12) - OK. Wait a while, Main pad counter will reset to zero. Follow all the prompts that appear on the screen to completion, such as: turn off the printer and then turn the printer back on. After all the commands that appear on the screen have been completed, press Finish (13) then close the Adjustment Program.

- Because the printer damage was caused by the Main ink pad being full, the repair was continued by replacing the Main ink pad with a new one.

2.   Replacing the ink pad

The main ink pad on the Epson L3050 / L3060 / L3070 is at the bottom of the printer. Follow the procedure below, how to remove and replace Main ink pad.

- Remove the two screws (see picture)

- Remove the bottom cover (see picture)

- Look at the bottom of the printer. Remove the Main ink pad.

- Replace Main ink pad with new one. Finished.

Notes

It is highly recommended to replace the Main ink pad with a new one. The new Main ink pad for Epson L3050 / L3060, L3070 can be purchased online, but if the new Main ink pad is not available or you are having trouble getting it, the alternative solution is to clean the Main ink pad by washing it, drying it, then reinstalling it.

So when the printer receives the command example Main pad counter - Check, the power light will blink for about 60 seconds. The printer can process the next command example Main pad counter - Initialization after 60 seconds have passed. Communication error! Error Code: 20000xxx occurs because the second command "Main pad counter -> Initialization" is done while the printer is still processing the previous command. So wait for the power light to stop flashing, then run the next command.
