Canon MG3500 series, MG3600 series Service Reference Manual

The ink absorber on the Canon MG3500 series, MG3600 series

There are two types of ink absorber installed in the Canon MG3500 series and MG3600 series, namely the main waste ink absorber and the platen waste ink absorber. When the printer performs cleaning or deep cleaning, the waste ink will be accommodated in the main waste ink absorber. When the ink absorber is full, the main ink absorber counter value is higher than the platen ink absorber.

There are two kinds of main and platen ink absorber, namely
  • Black ink absorber, main = D_BK
  • Color ink absorber, main = D_CL
  • Away ink absorber, platen = Dp_AW
  • Home ink absorber, platen = Dp_HM
EEPROM data
To find out the value of D_BK, D_CL, Dp_AW, Dp_HM by printing the EEPROM data. The tool used to print EEPROM data, and reset the D_BK, D_CL, Dp_AW, Dp_HM values ​​is Service Tool v.4713. So before resetting the printer, first print the EEPROM data, see the values ​​D_BK, D_CL, Dp_AW, Dp_HM. If the values ​​of D_BK, D_CL, Dp_AW, Dp_HM have reached their maximum value (100%), reset the values ​​for D_BK, D_CL, Dp_AW, Dp_HM to zero.
