This Service Manual consists of three revisions. Revision 00, August 26, 2011 is the first edition of the Service Manual for Canon MG2100 series and MG3100 series. Revision 01, June 1, 2012 is the second edition of the Service Manual for Canon MG2100, MG2200, MG3100, MG3200, MG4100, MG4200 series (2012 2H models). Revision 02, April 17, 2013 for Canon MG2100, MG2200, MG3100, MG3200, MG4100, MG4200 series. For Revisions 01 and 02 it is equipped with the Parts Catalog for Canon MG2100, MG2200, MG3100, MG3200, MG4100, MG4200 series.

Canon MG2100, MG2200, MG3100, MG3200, MG4100, MG4200 series Service Manual consists of 4 chapters, namely; Chapter 1 - List of Error Display / Troubleshooting, contains Operator Call Error and Service Call Error. The paper is jammed. If a memory card is inserted, remove it, then clear the paper and select [OK].

Ink cartridge in a wrong position. [1486] E07 U076 Some ink cartridges are not installed in place.
Multiple ink cartridges of the same color installed. [1487] E07 U075 Some ink cartridges are not installed in place.
Ink cartridge hardware error [1682] E15 U150 The following ink cartridge cannot be recognized.

Ink cartridge region code is wrong.

The remaining ink amount unknown. [1686] E13 U162 The ink may have run out. Replacing the ink cartridge is recommended.

No ink (BK). [1688] E16 U163 The ink has run out. Replace the ink cartridge.
Warning: The ink absorber becomes almost full.

-> Remove foreign material.
(2) Smearing, scratches, or dislocation of the timing slit strip film:
-> Clean and re-attach the film.
If the film is damaged, replace it.
(3) Carriage flexible cable condition (wrong or imperfect connection, connection at an angle, damage, etc.):
-> Re-connect the cable.
If the cable is damaged, replace the carriage unit.
(4) Carriage motor harness condition (wrong or imperfect connection, connection at an angle, damage, etc.):
-> Re-connect the cable.
If the cable is damaged, replace the carriage motor. Note that the carriage motor is not designated as a service part.
(5) If the error still occurs:
-> Replace the part(s) listed on the right (under “Parts to be replaced if the listed solutions are not effective”).
6 times Internal temperature error [5400] P06 -> Replace the part(s) listed on the right (under “Parts to be replaced if the listed solutions are not effective”).
7 times Ink absorber almost full.

-> Replace the applicable ink absorber (absorber kit), and reset its counter value.
See 3-2, Main Ink Absorber Replacement, for details.

-> Check the remaining ink amount, and replace the ink cartridge with sufficient ink when necessary.
(2) Head contact pin condition of the carriage unit:
-> Remove any foreign material.
If the pin is bent or deformed, replace the carriage unit.

-> Replace the part(s) listed on the right (under “Parts to be replaced if the listed solutions are not effective”).
