However, when an ink absorber becomes full, printing cannot be performed unless the corresponding ink absorber is replaced and the counter of the ink absorber is reset to zero.

Look at the picture above. If the printer engine is removed, it will be seen that the ink absorber is arranged at the bottom of the printer. There are two ink absorbers installed, namely the main ink absorber and platen ink absorber. Replace the ink absorber according to the support code error that appears on the screen.


EEPROM data

1.  Replace the ink absorber
Open the right side cover, remove the ink tube, then remove the Main ink absorber. Replace the main ink absorber with a new one.

2.  Reset the waste ink counter
After the Main ink absorber is replaced then reset the waste ink counter. In order for the printer to be reset, it must enter Service Mode. Please follow the procedure below.

Service mode operation procedures
  • The printer is off, the Power and USB cables are connected to the printer.
  • Press and hold the STOP button
  • Press and hold the ON button (do not release both buttons)
  • Release the STOP button (do not release the ON button)
  • While holding the ON button, press the STOP button 5 times and then release ON buttons. When the ON LED turns green (not blinking), nothing is displayed on the LCD, and the LCD remains black, it means the printer has successfully entered Service Mode.

Note
If the ON LED continues to blink orange, it means the printer failed to enter Service Mode. Turn off the printer, repeat the procedure above, and press the STOP button 6 times (enter Service Mode without a scanner.) 2b.  Reset the waste ink counter
Follow the procedure below if the printer has entered Service Mode.

  • Download Service Tool v.3400
  • Extract file and open Service Tool.
  • Load paper A4 or Letter (3 sheets or more)
  • For your reference in servicing, click EEPROM (1) information print before resetting. See the example of EEPROM information print out below.

  • Because D (BK=100.0   CL=090.0) means that Main black ink absorber and Main color ink absorber must be reset to zero. As for Dp (AW=002.6   HM=000.8) it means that the Platen ink absorber not need to be reset. The next step is to reset the Main ink absorber to zero.

  • Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN and then click SET (2). After the ink absorber counter is reset, the counter value is printed automatically. Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN means: Resets the Main_Black and Main_Color.
  • Click EEPROM (1) information print once again after resetting
  • Compare EEPROM information before and after reset, if all goes well, close the Service Tool, turn off the printer and wait 15 seconds then turn on printer. Done.

    3. Attach an additional hose at the end of the drainpipe. By installing an additional hose 50 cm long, the drain pipe becomes longer.

    4. The hole in the side cover for the drainpipe. Make a hole in the side cover and insert the end of the drain pipe so that it sticks out.

    5. Insert the end of the drain pipe into a transparent plastic bottle. Cut the drain pipe if it is too long.
