Service Call Error Canon PIXMA MX300, MX308, MX310, MX318
A service call error is an error code shown by the printer which means the printer needs repair or replacement of parts. When the printer is turned on, the ON/OFF LED is green then the Alarm LED is orange several times, then the ON/OFF LED is green. This happens continuously and repeatedly. The number of Alarm LEDs flashing orange has different meanings or is called Service Call Error. The following is a list of errors that require repair and may require replacement of parts on the Canon PIXMA MX300, MX308, MX310, MX318.

Note: if there is an error 5100 and the part that is replaced is the logic board, then after the replacement of the logic board is complete, the printer must be reset.
Error code: 6000
Error: line feed error.
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 3 times.
Conditions: an error occurred in the LF encoder signal.
Note: if error 6000 occurs and the part that is replaced is the logic board, then after the replacement of the logic board is complete, the printer must be reset.
Error code: 5700
Error: ASF (cam) sensor error
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 5 times
Conditions: This error takes place when feeding paper from the rear tray after an error occurred in the rear tray cam sensor.
Note: if an error 5700 occurs and the part that is replaced is the logic board, then after the replacement of the logic board is complete, the printer must be reset.
Error code: 5400
Error: internal temperature error.
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 6 times
Conditions: The internal temperature is not normal.
Error code: 5200
Error: print head temperature rise error.
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 8 times.
Conditions: the print head temperature exceeded the specified value.
Note: if an error 5200 occurs and the part that is replaced is the logic board, then after the replacement of the logic board is complete, the printer must be reset.
Error codes: 6800 / 6801
Error: EEPROM error.
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 9 times.
Conditions: a problem occurred in writing to the EEPROM.
Error code: B200
Error: VH monitor error.
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 10 times.
Conditions: the internal temperature exceeded the specified value.

Note: if there is an error B200 and the part that is replaced is the logic board, then after the replacement of the logic board is complete, the printer must be reset.
Error code: 6A00
Error: AP position error.
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 12 times.
Conditions: An error occurred in the AP motor during purging operation.
Error code: 9000
Error: USB Host VBUS over-current
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 15 times
Conditions: The USB Host VBUS is overloaded.
Error code: 5010
Error: scanner home position error.
Cycles of blinking in orange and green: 22 times.
Conditions: The scanner unit cannot detect the home position, or the scanner unit warming-up is not performed properly at power-on.
Note: if there is an error 5010 and the part that is replaced is the logic board, then after the replacement of the logic board is complete, the printer must be reset.
Error code: None.
Error: ROM error / RAM error.Cycles of blinking in orange and green: Power LED turned off Alarm LED (orange) lit.
Conditions: The check sum value is incorrect in the flash ROM or RAM check at hard-power-on.

Conditions: platen ink absorber becomes full.

Note: if there is an error 5B01 and the platen ink absorber is replaced, then after replacing the platen ink absorber, the printer must be reset.Error: print head temperature rise error.

Operator Call Error Canon PIXMA MX300, MX308, MX310, MX318
Operator Call Error is an error code that appears when a problem occurs while operating the printer. Alarm LED will flash orange when an error occurs, error messages and solutions will be displayed on the LCD screen and Status Monitor. Press the Stop/Reset button to cancel the print command and clear the error. Press the OK button to clear the error. Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the printer and turn the printer back on.

Solution: Replace the ink cartridge and close the scanning unit. Printing with an empty ink cartridge can damage the machine. To continue printing without replacing the ink cartridge(s), press the Stop/Reset button for 5 sec. or longer to disable the function to detect the remaining ink amount.
Error code: 1687

Message on the LCD: Check ink U053
Solution: Re-set the ink cartridge. If the error is not cleared, the ink cartridge may be defective. Replace the ink cartridge.
