Epson L555 Adjustment Program, Service Manual, Parts List
Adjustment Program is a utility software used to reset Epson printers. Adjustment Program is used when one or more printer parts are replaced or removed. When one or more parts are replaced, the printer must be reset to perform optimally with the new parts, so that print quality can be maintained. The Epson printer adjustment program is different for each type of printer, so to reset a certain type of printer, we must download the Adjustment Program for that printer.

Adjustment Program is a portable software and can be used on Windows Operating System (10, 8, 7, Vista, XP), by connecting the printer to a computer with a USB cable, and the Adjustment program cannot be used if the printer is connected to a computer with a Wireless connection. The following is an example of using the Adjustment Program.
Waste ink pad replacement
The waste ink pad is a container for waste ink from the Head Cleaning process or waste ink from the printing process. Waste ink pads are pieces of sponge arranged in a container. These sponge pieces are originally white, and when these waste ink pads are full, these sponges will become saturated with ink.
Replacement of the waste ink pad is done when the waste ink pad is full and finally the error message appears "A printer's ink pad is at the end of its service life. Please contact Epson Support."
The repair that must be done when this error message appears is to replace the waste ink pad, then reset the waste ink pad counter. The following is a repair procedure that must be carried out.
1. Replacing the waste ink pad
The Epson L555 printer waste ink pad is located on the bottom of the printer. Follow the following procedure how to remove and replace the waste ink pad
- Remove the screws on the back of the printer.
- Look at the bottom of the printer (which is marked with a dotted yellow line). Remove the waste ink pad assy.
- If a new waste ink pad is available in the market, it is highly recommended to replace it with a new one. However, if new waste ink pads are not available, an alternative solution is to clean the waste ink pads, dry them, and reuse them. Make sure that the waste ink pad is completely dry before installing.
- After the waste ink pad is replaced or cleaned, next we will reset the waste ink counter to zero with the Adjustment Program.
2. Reset the waste ink pad counter to zero
- Connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable, then turn on the printer.
- Open AdjProg - Select (1) - Model Name: L555 (2) - Port: select USB port Epson L555 (3) - OK (4) - Particular adjustment mode (5).
- Waste ink pad counter (6) - OK (7)
- To know the value of the waste ink pad counter before resetting, check the Main pad counter (8) - Check (9). Wait a few moments, the Main pad counter value will appear on the screen. If the Main pad counter value is equal to 100% or close to 100%, then the Main pad counter value must be reset. Next we will reset the Main pad counter value to zero.
- Check the Main pad counter (10) - Initialization (11). Follow all the procedures that appear on the screen to completion, such as turning off the printer and turning it back on. After completing all the procedures, press Finish (12) then close the Adjustment Program. Done.

Questions and Answers
Q: There is an error "A printer's ink pad is at the end of its service life" on my printer. If the waste ink pad counter is reset, but the waste ink pad is not replaced or cleaned. Can the printer return to normal?
A: Because the waste ink pad counter has been reset, the printer can be reused, but because the waste ink pad is not replaced or cleaned, in the near future, the waste ink will overflow from the printer because the waste ink pad can no longer hold the waste ink. Resetting the waste ink pad counter becomes effective if the waste ink pad is replaced with a new one.
Q: Error Code: 20000xxx when using the Adjustment Program. What to do?
A: Communication error! Error Code: 20000xxx occurs because the printer is not ready to accept commands from the Adjustment Program because it is still busy processing the previous command.
So when the printer receives the command example Main pad counter - Check, the power light will blink for about 60 seconds. The printer can process the next command example Main pad counter - Initialization after 60 seconds have passed. Communication error! Error Code: 20000xxx occurs because the second command "Main pad counter -> Initialization" is done while the printer is still processing the previous command. So wait for the power light to stop flashing, then run the next command.
When there is damage to the Epson printer and requires replacement of spare parts, after the damaged parts are replaced, then use the Adjustment Program to reset the printer so that it can work optimally with new spare parts. If you are having trouble repairing a faulty printer yourself, we recommend contacting an Epson Authorized Customer Service Center.
