Operator Call Error (alarm indicator lights orange) troubleshooting
Errors and alarms are displayed in the following ways:

• The user operation error is indicated by the orange flashing of the alarm indicator, and the error and its solution are indicated by the alternate flashing of the indicator.
• The information during PC printing is displayed on the printer driver status monitor.
• Error codes (up to five latest error codes) are printed in the "User Operation/Maintenance Fault Report" area in the EEPROM information printing.

Buttons that are effective when a user operation error occurs:

• ON button: turn off the printer power and turn on the power again
• Black/Color button: Clear the error and recover from an error. In some user operation errors, when the cause of the error is eliminated, the error is automatically cleared without pressing the Black / Color button.
• Stop button: Cancel the job at the time of error and clear the error.

4 times	The ink cartridge is not in place	[1470]	(1) The ink cartridge is arched.     -> Install the ink cartridge in place. (2) The cartridge holder is arched.     -> Remove the protective film on the upper ink cartridge and reinstall the ink cartridge. (3) The connecting rod is arched or not pushed.     -> Push the connecting rod into place. (4) There are foreign objects on the ink cartridge contacts.     -> Remove foreign objects. (5) The ink cartridge is damaged.     -> Replace the ink cartridge. (6) The contact part of the trolley unit is deformed or damaged.     -> Replace the trolley unit. 14 times	Cannot recognize an ink cartridge	[1473]	(1) An unsupported ink cartridge is installed     -> Install the supported ink cartridges. (2) The ink cartridge is damaged.     -> Replace the ink cartridge.
8 times	The waste ink pad is almost full	[1700]	(1) Replace the waste ink pad and reset its counter value. (Partial replacement: 30%, overall replacement: 0%) A reset error will allow printing to continue without replacing the waste ink pad. However, when the waste ink pad becomes full, Trigger to replace the corresponding waste ink pad, otherwise printing can no longer be performed.     -> Replace part of the waste ink pad or the whole waste ink pad kit. For details, see 2-1. (5) Remove the waste ink pad kit (partial) and (26) Remove the waste ink pad kit.
9 times	The packaging materials are not taken out	[1890]	(1) A trolley stopper is installed.     -> Remove foreign objects.
11 times	IVEC print setting error	[4103]	(1) The paper placed in the printer does not support duplex printing.     -> Place on length paper.

Service Call Errors (indicated by the Alarm and Power LEDs flashing alternately)
The maintenance fault report is indicated by the alternate flashing times of the alarm indicator and the power indicator, and the corresponding error information is displayed in the status monitor.

3 times	Line feed error	[6000]	(1) There are foreign objects inside the printer     -> Remove foreign objects. (2) The following wires are disconnected or connected at a certain angle: -Paper feed motor harness -Feed Encoder FFC     -> Connect the corresponding wires correctly. (3) FFC of paper feed encoder is bent or damaged     -> Replace FFC. (4) The paper feed grating tray is scratched or heavily polluted.     -> Replace the grating disk. (5) The gears of the following parts are damaged: -Feed roller unit     -> Replace the corresponding unit. If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: -Main PCB assembly
5 times	ASF (cam) sensor error	[5700]	(1) After turning off the power of the printer and turning on the power again, the error reappeared.     -> Replace the automatic paper feeder unit or main PCB assembly or paper feeder sensor PCB assembly.
6 times	Internal temperature error	[5400]	(1) After disconnecting the printer power, the error reappears, wait 5 minutes, and then switch on the power again.     -> Replace the main PCB assembly.
7 times	Waste ink pad is full	[5B00]	(1) After turning off the power of the printer and turning on the power again, the error reappeared.     -> Replace part of the waste ink pad or the whole waste ink pad kit.
8 times	Print head temperature is too high	[5200]	(1) Although the ink has run out, printing is still performed.     -> Replenish the ink cartridge with ink. (2) The ink cartridge is faulty (the contact, TAB wire, or around the nozzle is burned out, etc.).     -> Replace the ink cartridge. (3) The contact pins of the trolley unit are bent or damaged.     -> Replace the trolley unit. If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: -Main PCB assembly
9 times	NVRAM error	[6800]	(1) After turning off the power of the printer and turning on the power again, the error reappeared.     -> Replace the main PCB assembly.

	Pre-charged VH monitor error	[B203]	(1) The FFC of the trolley is disconnected or connected at a certain angle.     -> Connect the car FFC correctly. (2) The DC cable harness is not connected correctly.     -> Connect the cable harness correctly. (3) If the error still occurs, replace the ink cartridge.     -> Replace the ink cartridge. If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: -Main PCB assembly -Power supply unit
	FET turns on VH monitor error	[B204]	(1) The FFC of the trolley is disconnected or connected at a certain angle.     -> Connect the car FFC correctly. (2) Remove the ink cartridge, turn off the printer power and turn on the power again.     -> If the error still occurs, replace the main PCB assembly. (3) After reinstalling the ink cartridge, the error reappeared.     -> Replace the ink cartridge. If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: -Power supply unit
	VHIC status monitor error	[B205]	(1) The contact pins of the trolley unit are bent or damaged.     -> Replace the trolley unit. If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: -Ink cartridge -Main PCB assembly -Power supply unit
20 times	Other hardware errors	[6500]	(1) After disconnecting the power cord and connecting it again, the error reappears (hard power off and hard power on).     -> Replace the main PCB assembly.
22 times	Circuit error	[5050]	(1) The scanner FFC is disconnected or connected at a certain angle.     -> C correctly connect the scanner FFC. (2) The scanner FFC is bent or damaged     -> Replace the scanner unit.
	Scanner error	[5011]	(1) The scanner FFC is disconnected or connected at a certain angle.     -> C correctly connect the scanner FFC. (2) The scanner FFC is bent or damaged     -> Replace the scanner unit. If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: -Main PCB assembly
	Scanner motor error	[5012]	(1) After disconnecting the power cord and connecting it again, the error reappears (hard power off and hard power on). Or the scanner FFC is bent or damaged.     -> Replace the scanner unit. (2) The scanner FFC is disconnected or connected at a certain angle.     -> C correctly connect the scanner FFC. If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: -Main PCB assembly

Adjustments and Settings in Service Mode for Canon G1000 series, G2000 series, G3000 series


1).  Start the printer in the Service Mode.

1.   The printer is off.
2.   Press and hold the Stop*1 button
3.   Press and hold the ON button.
4.   Release the Stop*1 button (do not release the ON button)
5.   Press the Stop*1 button 5 times*2, then release the ON button.

Note
*1.  Resume/Cancel button for G1000 series.
*2.  When there is no scanner, press the Stop button 6 times.


2).  Start the Service Tool in the connected PC

• When a button in the Service Tool dialog box is clicked, the function is executed. During the selected operating period, all Service Tool buttons are dimmed and disabled.
• When the operation is completed, "A function was finished." is displayed (a function was finished), and another function can be selected at this time.
• If an unsupported function is selected, "Error!" is displayed. Click OK in the message dialog box to exit the error.

3).  Multiple uses of Service Tool
In the Service Tool version 4710 and later versions, for the connected printer, when the printer is started in the Service Mode, multiple Service Tool can be loaded and used in a PC at the same time.


Program

1.   Connect the printer and the PC with a USB cable.
2.   Start the printer in the Service Mode. The Power indicator will flash. Wait until the indicator light is on, and then load the Service Tool.
3.   When the Service Tool is loaded, the model name and printer serial number are displayed at the top of the Service Tool window.

Limitation factor

• Connect the printer to the PC with a USB cable and start the printer in the Service Mode. After the PC recognizes the printer, install the Service Tool.
• At the top of the Service Tool window, the model name and serial number of the connected printers are displayed to identify various combinations of Service Tool and printers. For models before 2009, the printer, model name is displayed as "Device" and the USB serial number is displayed instead of the printer serial number. For printers of 2009 or earlier, the model name is displayed as "Device" and the USB serial number is displayed instead of the printer serial number.
• If the logic board is replaced during maintenance, "123456789" (nine-digit "zero") is displayed as the printer serial number.
• During the use of the Service Tool, if the USB wire between the printer and the PC is disconnected, after that, even if the printer is reconnected, the Service Tool cannot recognize the printer. After reconnecting the printer, close (exit) the Service Tool, and then load it again.

Reset the waste ink counter
