This Service Manual is written in Chinese with the title "Canon MG6800 series, MG5700 series, MG6600 series, MG5600 series, MG6400 series, MG5500 series Simplified Service Manual". MG6800 series are not put into CSPL area. This "Maintenance Manual" contains maintenance information for unit replacement. The information applies to MG6800 series, MG6600 series and MG6400 series. Some information in this manual does not apply to MG5700 series, MG5600 series and MG5500 series, and these series should be replaced and maintained.

1. There is no paper in the paper feeder. Put paper in the paper feeder.
2. The paper feeder is not inserted all the way. Insert it all the way.
3. The pickup roller is not operating correctly. Replace the left or right pickup roller unit.
4. PE lever or photoelectric switch is damaged. Replace the inner guide rod unit.
Error: Output tray closed
Error code: [1250]
Check points & solutions:
When trying to print, the paper feed tray is closed. Turn it on
Error: Paper jam
Error code: [1300], [1303]
Check points & solutions:
1. There are foreign objects inside the printer. Remove the foreign objects.
2. PE lever is damaged. Replace the inner guide rod unit.
3. The pickup roller is not operating correctly. Replace the left or right pickup roller unit.
Error: Paper jam during automatic duplex printing
Error code: [1304]
Check points & solutions:
1. The rear guide unit is separated. Install the rear guide unit.
2. There are foreign objects inside the printer. Remove the foreign objects.
3. PE lever is damaged. Replace the inner guide rod unit.
4. The rear guide unit is deformed or damaged. Replace the unit.
Error: Paper size error occurs during automatic duplex printing

Check points & solutions:
The printer driver is set incorrectly. Confirm whether a supported paper size is selected in the printer driver, or a supported paper size is set in the paper feeder.

Check points & solutions:
1. The contacts of the print head or the contact pins of the carriage unit are dirty. Clean the contacts of the print head or the contact pins of the carriage unit.
2. The contact pins of the cart unit are deformed or damaged. Replace the trolley unit.
If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: Print head.
Error: Ink cartridge hardware error
Error code: [141#]
Check points & solutions:
1. The ink cartridge is not installed correctly. Install the ink cartridges correctly.
2. There are foreign objects in the ink cartridge installation area. Remove foreign objects.
3. The ink cartridge is damaged. Replace the unit.
If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: Logic board assembly.

1. Out of ink, or the ink cartridge is defective. Replace the ink cartridge.
If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: Scanner unit.
Error: No ink cartridge
Error code: [1660]
Check points & solutions:
1. The ink cartridge is arched. Install it in place.
2. There are foreign objects on the ink cartridge contacts. Remove foreign objects.
3. The ink cartridge is damaged. Replace the unit.
4. The contact pins of the trolley unit are deformed or damaged. Replace the trolley unit.
5. The ink cartridge sensor is deformed or damaged. Replace the scanner unit.
If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: Logic board assembly.
Error: Multiple ink cartridges of the same color are installed

Multiple ink cartridges of the same color are installed. Install the ink cartridges of each color in the correct installation slot.
If the error still occurs, replace the following parts: Logic board assembly.
Error: Ink cartridge is in the wrong position.

An ink cartridge is installed in the wrong installation slot. Install the ink cartridge in the correct installation slot.

Check points & solutions:
An unsupported ink cartridge is installed, or the ink cartridge itself is faulty. Replace the ink cartridge.

There is no ink remaining in the ink cartridge. Replace the corresponding ink cartridge.

Error: The waste ink pad is almost full
Error code: [1700], [1701]
Check points & solutions:
Replace the waste ink pad (main waste ink pad kit) and reset its counter. Press the OK button to exit the error and allow printing without replacing the waste ink pad. However, when the waste ink pad becomes full, printing can no longer be performed unless the corresponding waste ink pad is replaced.
Error: The waste ink pad of the pressure plate is almost full.

Replace the waste ink pad (waste ink pad on the pressure plate or waste ink pad under the pressure plate) and reset its counter. Press the OK button to exit the error and allow printing without replacing the waste ink pad. However, when the waste ink pad becomes full, printing can no longer be performed unless the corresponding waste ink pad is replaced.

The paper setting in the driver is different from the information specified in the printer (paper size/paper type). Perform one of the following actions:
-Select Print with paper in cassette. Settings (Print with paper in cassette. Settings)
-Select Replace paper and print.

In the middle of the scan operation, and 60 minutes have passed, the buffer becomes full. Press OK to clear the error.
