Service Call Errors (by Cyclic Blinking of Alarm and Power LEDs)
Blinking time(s): 7 times
Error: Ink absorber full
Error code: 5B00: The main ink absorber is full (overseas), 5B01: Main ink absorber is full (Japan).
Conditions: The ink absorber is supposed to be full.

Reset Canon MP560 error Waste Ink Absorber Full

STEP 1 - Enter Service Mode

Preparation:
Connect USB cable, connect the Power cable, and the machine power turned off.

1)    Press and hold the Stop/Reset button
2)    Press and hold the ON/OFF button (do not release both buttons.)
3)    Release the Stop/Reset button (do not release the ON/OFF button.)
4)    While holding the ON/OFF button, press the Stop/Reset button 2 times, then release the ON/OFF and Stop/Reset buttons together.

About point 4): while holding the ON/OFF button, press and release the Stop/Reset button 1 time, then press and hold the Stop/Reset button 1 time, then release the ON/OFF and Stop/Reset buttons together.

Note:
When the LED stops blinking and light green, it means the printer is in Service Mode and the display on LCD "Service Mode Idle". BUT, if the LED continues to blinking and lights orange, that means the printer is not in Service Mode. Repeat the procedure to enter Service Mode.


STEP 2 - Reset The Printer 

5)   Reset printer with Canon Service Tool v.1050. Free, no virus, support OS Linux, Macintosh, Windows (98, ME, 2000, XP, 7, 8, 8.1, 10.)

  • Download Service Tool v.1050
  • Extract file and open Service Tool. If Service Tool can't be open, unplug the USB cable and then open the Service Tool. After the Service Tool is open, reconnect the USB cable.
  • Load paper A4 or Letter.
  • Select USB Port printer (1)
  • For your reference in servicing, click EEPROM information print before resetting (2)
  • Clear Ink Counter, click MAIN (3). Wait for the printer to finish printing D=000.0. D is a Waste ink amount. D=000.0 means "The ink absorber counter has been reset to zero".

  • Select the destination, Region: ASA, AUS, BRA, CHN, CND, EUR, JPN, KOR, LTN, TWN, USA (4) and then click SET (5)
  • Click EEPROM information print once again after resetting (1).
  • Compare EEPROM information before and after reset, look at the value of D (Waste ink amount).
  • If all goes well, close Service Tool.
  • Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds).
  • Turn on printer and printer ready to use.
